Introduction

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a common buzz phrase to indicate a positive attitude toward acceptance. Yet too many protected classes for inclusion are misunderstood, misapplied, or outright ignored. Despite significant growth in recognition of LGBTQIA issues in the anti-discrimination laws recently, there is still far too little understanding and compliance with issues impacting the gay, transgender and intersex communities.

This program will explore issues relating to LGBTQIA challenges of differing kinds in the workplace, will examine the legal requirements in antidiscrimination compliance, and will provide tools for spreading education, an improved workplace environment for all, and clarifying compliance mandates through legal analysis and caselaw.

Areas Covered In The Webinar

  • Who exactly is a LGBTQIA person?
  • What is LGBTQIA as a legally protected class under the law?
  • The impact of Federal laws affecting LGBTQIA employees:  Title VII, FMLA, and ADA--Learn the Latest Developments
  • Current status of state and local laws with respect to LGBTQIA workers
  • Employer best practices in establishing and maintaining a non-discriminatory workplace
